Tips from the trade

Start high, finish low
Dust fans, lights and vents first, then benches, then floors last so nothing falls on a clean surface.
Soak the oven early
Put degreaser on the oven and racks when you arrive, then do the rest of the kitchen while it works.
Bring the entry report
Agents compare against the entry condition report. Check it room by room before you leave.
Photograph every room
Take timestamped before and after photos so you have a record if anything is questioned later.

Bond cleaning FAQ

What does a bond clean include?

A bond clean (end-of-lease clean) is a top-to-bottom clean so the property is returned in the condition it was in at the start of the lease, allowing for fair wear and tear. It usually covers the kitchen including the oven and rangehood, bathrooms, every bedroom and living area, the laundry, windows and tracks, and any outdoor areas.

How long does a bond clean take?

It depends on the size and condition of the property. A small apartment in good condition can take a few hours, while a large house with a heavily used oven or mouldy bathroom can take a full day or more for one cleaner.

Do I need to steam clean the carpets?

Check your lease and your state's tenancy rules. Requirements differ between states and leases, so confirm with the agent or your local tenancy authority before booking carpet cleaning.

Why take before and after photos?

Timestamped photos of every room show what condition the property was in and what was cleaned. If the agent or landlord raises an issue later, you have a record to refer to.

Can I print this checklist?

Yes. Tap Print checklist to print it or save it as a PDF. Your ticks are saved on your phone, so you can come back to it during the clean.
